Terms of service

The rules of the road.

Plain-English terms for using Lygo. Nothing fancy, no surprises.

Last updated: April 2026.

Who we are

Lygo is a service operated by Lygo, Inc. ("Lygo," "we," "us"). By using Lygo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. Don't share your password. Tell us if you suspect someone else has access. You must be 13 or older (16 in the EEA) to use Lygo.

What you can do with Lygo

You can use Lygo to log your meals, track your nutrition, and get personalized insights. You retain full ownership of everything you create or log. You give Lygo a non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content as needed to provide the service.

What you can't do

  • Use Lygo for anything illegal.
  • Try to break, abuse, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Use Lygo to harm yourself or others — see "Not medical advice" below.
  • Scrape, copy, or resell our data or AI outputs.
  • Create multiple free accounts to evade our limits.

Not medical advice

Lygo is a nutrition tracking tool, not a medical service. The information we provide is for general educational and tracking purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified healthcare provider. If you have a medical condition, eating disorder, or specific dietary needs, please consult a doctor or registered dietitian.

Subscriptions and payments

Premium and Professional subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account settings — your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period. We don't offer refunds for partial months, except where required by law.

Free tier

We may change the limits of our free tier with reasonable notice. We may also throttle or suspend abusive use of the free tier (for example, automated scripts).

Service changes

We're constantly improving Lygo. We may add, change, or remove features. If we discontinue a major feature you depend on, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.

Termination

You can delete your account any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or use Lygo in a way that harms us, our users, or third parties. If we do this, we'll let you know why and give you a chance to recover your data unless the violation is severe.

Disclaimers

Lygo is provided "as is." We do our best to keep things accurate and the service running, but we don't promise it will be perfect, error-free, or always available. Nutrient data comes from third-party sources (USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts) and may contain errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lygo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in California, except where local consumer protection laws give you the right to dispute in your home jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll let you know by email and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
